At the young age of 27, Bucky Harris was hired as the manager of the Washington Senators. He would go on to lead them to two American League pennants and one World Series title.
He managed Washington until 1928 before moving to the Detroit Tigers for a four year stint. After his tenure with the Tigers, he moved to Boston for just one year, posting a record of 76-76. Following his short run with Boston, he went back to Washington but wasn’t able to repeat the success of his previous tenure. He would go on to coach the Yankees for 2 years after his second run with Washington and a one year stay at Philadelphia. He coached for a total of 29 years, winning a total of 3 pennants(1 with the Yankees and 2 with Washington) and 2 World Series titles(one with New York, one with Washington).
